Visix Launches Digital Signage Software as a Service (SAAS) Solution

Visix digital signage software is now a service (SAAS) solution. The offering is built upon the long-standing AxisTV platform, which was designed and built as a web-based solution and is deployed in 1000 sites around the world.

Visix SAAS subscribers can exploit 90-percent of the functionality found in the premise-based solution, which is built on the same architectural platform. At the visual playback level, communicators will see no difference in the products since they are both compatible with Visix channel players and media appliances. The SAAS offering pulls information from the Visix content manager, and users can set refresh rates to as short as one minute.

Users will see a number of traditional SAAS benefits including minimal initial investment, no content server maintenance, no responsibility for data backup and storage, and new builds and releases deployed regularly without user or IT intervention.

“This offering is designed for organizations looking to quickly deploy visual communications with limited IT support and nominal capital expenditure,” says Sean M. Matthews, President of Visix. “With this release we are expanding the number of options available to existing and potential customers. In the present economic climate, it is critical that we meet the needs of organizational budgets, as well as communication needs.”

Vice President of Sales, Trey Hicks says, “Most of our existing clients have been hosting their own solutions with premise-based content managers. We are taking responsibility for that component of the solution to ease both the financial and maintenance burdens on our customers. We have identified several markets and user profiles that will embrace this offering.”

A number of Visix clients, including Shenandoah University, Creany and Smith Partners, Skidmore College, and Canada’s CML Properties, have been piloting the SAAS offering in Canada and the United States for nearly a year. The company chose not to publically market the offering while analyzing its effectiveness and the overall demand for SAAS in the visual communications market.

The Visix SAAS offering requires a two-year commitment with monthly auto-pay secured to a credit card or annual payments with discounts tied to a year over year scale. There is set-up fee of $330 for the new SAAS offering and monthly access fees start at $284 (excluding players.)
