NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Created to be the Christian Music Broadcasters’ premier annual event, Momentum is a four-day conference which brings together radio and record industry professionals from around the world. Held for the second year at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando, the CMB events team wanted to create an attendee experience like none before, so they called upon the Nashville-based production provider Elite Multimedia Productions who supplied three event stages using a full package of audio, lighting and LED video.
“We are a non-profit ministry, so when we start looking at the production design for the Momentum conference, we have to look at what will offer the best experience for our attendees, as well as what is going to be most affordable for us,” began Brittany Whatley, CMB Events Manager. “One of the reasons we love working with Elite Multimedia Productions is that they understand how to showcase our musical artists in the best way possible, and at the best price.”

Whatley continued, “We have approximately 20 different performances featuring a number of different artists throughout the course of the event, plus a full schedule of engaging symposiums and networking opportunities. Getting started on the creation of the event, the CMB team knows that the production schedule behind-the-scenes will be tight. Keeping a close watch on the time it takes to have the conference ready to open, Whatley was extremely pleased with how the team at Elite Multimedia Productions kept all the technical elements on track.
“The event typically occurs over the course of the Labor Day weekend so there is not a lot of time for the load-in and set-up,” explained Whatley. “Since it’s a pretty quick turnaround, we get started on Wednesday evening and then begin sound checks pretty early in the day on Thursday. The team at Elite really only has a short amount of time to get everything done, but they do it, and I am blown away.”
Ready to open the doors to Momentum 2018, Whatley was eager to see the reaction of those at the show. Knowing the challenges they faced in the previous year due to the effects of Hurricane Irma, Whatley was happy to now be able to unleash the full potential of the Momentum showcase.
“At the conference we had about 700 attendees made up mostly of our member radio stations and our various partner organizations,” added Whatley. “I have been with the program for five years, and I have to say that the vibe at the 2018 Momentum was unlike any I have ever experienced. Even from the attendee’s standpoint, we’ve been hearing that this was the best Momentum conference we have ever produced, and as the event manager, that’s a big deal.”
