ACTi KCM-3911 Camera Puts an Eye in the Sky

The company's new hemispheric camera features multiple viewing modes and a Motion Detection Preset.

It’s hard to keep an eye on every inch of your property. However, the latest product from Irvine, Calif.-based ACTi has users covered just about anywhere indoors.

ACTi’s KCM-3911 should deliver some peace of mind with its application flexibility. This all-purpose 4-megapixel hemispheric camera is suitable for nearly any indoor application, thanks to its far-reaching fisheye lens that can capture just about everything around it.

The KCM-3911 has different viewing modes for different applications. It can be used as a static camera with panoramic view for general overview of the surveillance site, or as a special PTZ camera that only looks at one or more specific areas at a time. The company also says there is a unique “Motion Detection Preset” mode to let the camera capture and stream out only the region that is currently activated by a moving object. As the object moves around the room, the camera will be able to track the person by switching the view automatically according to the location of the moving object.

Designed for a variety of applications, the ACTi KCM-3911 features a list price of $873.
