Polaris Industries Inc. unveiled the Brutus commercial vehicle line in March 2013 at the National Facilities Management & Technology tradeshow (NFMT) in Baltimore. The vehicle, ideal for church grounds maintenance, delivers front-end power take-off (PTO) capability.
The Brutus product line is the outcome of a strategic alliance with Bobcat in 2009, the company reports. The co-developed vehicles leverage the expertise of both companiesBobcat's experience in work vehicle technology and attachments, and Polaris's background in the utility vehicle and powersports market.
The Brutus offers a 24-horsepower diesel engine with hydrostatic transmission that reportedly delivers the torque and power needed for tough jobs. An innovative treadle pedal allows travel in forward or reverse without shifting gears. Brutus vehicles also provide six inches of suspension travel combined with on-demand true all-wheel drive for safe, comfortable transportation of passengers and cargo over any terrain, the company reports.
