New Mobile Giving Platform Anticipates Growing Need for Charitable Donations from Smartphones

The Giving App LLC of Nashville, Tenn., has launched a new mobile donation platform. Called simply "The Giving App," the tool reportedly provides churches and non-profit organizations with a simple method to receive individual and recurring donations from contributors using their smartphones.

As of March 2012, over half of U.S. mobile subscribers own a smartphoneand trends suggest this number will continue to rise.

"Many people just don't carry cash with them all the time," says co-founder Devon Weller. "But increasingly more people do carry a smartphone. We want to provide a way to connect these people with the organizations that they care about and want to donate to."

The Giving App uses HTML5-based web technologies and cloud services to deliver a giving platform that works across leading smartphone operating systems.

"Statistics show an estimated 400 million iOS and 450 million Android devices sold," says co-founder, Devin Goins. "We want churches and non-profit organizations to be able to take advantage of donation opportunities that they might otherwise be missing. The Giving App can help by providing a quick and easy way for anyone with a smartphone and a bank card to give quickly and easily."

The Giving App invites users to see a demo of the app by visiting demo.thegivingapp.com from their smart device.
