Light-emitting diode (LED) technology has come a long way since it was first used in indicator lamps and calculator displays more than 40 years ago. Appleton’s new Areamaster LED luminaires are reportedly well suited to the task of floodlighting. According to the company, they provide the quality and distribution of light required for effective industrial floodlighting. Areamaster is also designed to substantially reduce the time and cost of installation and maintenance in hard-to-reach locations where floodlights are usually placed.
At only 15.5 inches square, 4 inches deep and 22 pounds, Areamaster LED luminaires, once installed, provide reliable, high-quality light over a maintenance-free lifetime of 60,000 hours. The bronze polyester coated copper-free aluminum housing is designed to be aesthetic in appearance and to protect internal components year after year, even in weather-exposed, corrosive and rugged environments. When Areamaster LED floodlights do require maintenance, the company reports, a one-piece housing and one-piece hinged lens and cover secured by four captive stainless steel screws are easily and safely accessible.
With long-term reliability in a system that’s easier to install and maintain, Areamaster LED luminaires work hard to lower maintenance and replacement costs while keeping large indoor and outdoor areas at church well lit and productive.
