Pastor Jesse Bradley is a former professional soccer goalkeeper (played in Zimbabwe, Africa and Aberdeen, Scotland), radio host, podcaster, speaker and author of Rooted in Grace and recently, A New Season. He holds a Masters Degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Bradley didn't grow up believing in God and never expected to become a pastor. It was during a World Religion Course at Dartmouth College (where he graduated with a BA in Psychology) that his curiosity in faith began. Bradley was the first in his expanded family to come to faith in Jesus Christ and soon discovered his calling for confronting misconceptions about God.
Bradley has a passion for creating new disciples, and a vision for what "new normals" of collaborative ministry need to be, and what they look like in terms of outreach. "When I've moved to a city, there has been very little connection and partnership among churches. They may gather once a year to have lunch, but how much healthier it would be if pastors would drop logos and egos and figure out how we can all be part in creating a city-wide movement. Although as a church we may go faster alone, together we can travel further to see Jesus lived out in the life of a city."
About the Pacific Northwest region, Bradley notes, “Grace Community's location in Seattle is an area spiritually unique, in that it’s home to the second most de-churched population of people in the country. In addition, the rate of new people flooding the area has eclipsed even Austin, TX. Our church sees new people every week. Per capita, Seattle ranks second with the most number of churches. But, what we are finding is that we need healthier churches. Not enough are seeing multiplication that creates new disciples.”
