Gefen introduces two new extenders for HDMI, allowing installers to use standard CAT-5 or CAT-6 cable to extend high definition video with multi-channel digital audio.

HDMI v1.3 CAT5 ELR (Extra Long Range)

Breaks the distance barrier for HDMI extension using just one CAT-5e cable, delivering 1080p full HD up to 330 feet (100m) in distance. Another revolutionary aspect of this extender is its ability to send Ethernet over the same cable. It supports HDCP, HDMI v1.3 and Ethernet 100 Tbase. A set-top box, blu-ray player, camera or any hi-def device equipped with HDMI and using IP-based applications can be viewed on a display while the source equipment remains secure in a basement or closet rack system.

HDMI over CAT5 Wall Plate Extender

Unique because it requires no power supplies to send HDMI at 1080p full HD over two CAT-5/6 cables up to 75 feet (23m) in distance. Sender and receiver units are wall plates that come in a neutral cream or ivory color to blend in with the décor. Two in-wall CAT-5/6 cables connect the sender wall plate to the receiver wall plate, located anywhere within the same room. By tapping into conduit cabling, integrators can streamline the installation, leaving an aesthetic appearance in the worship facility.
