Bill Conner Associates announces his design services on two worship facilities, Houston’s First Baptist Church and Jersey Village Baptist Church. Both projects are in collaboration with Pete Ed Garrett AIA and Jared Wood AIA of Studio Red Architects, Houston, Texas.

The $12 million Houston’s First Baptist Church renovation encompasses seating replacement, a new platform, an updated choir configuration and a new catwalk system over the house with related ceiling design and a circular walking truss. Bill Conner Associates (BCA) designed the dimming and control systems, curved curtain tracks upstage and motorized doors revealing the updated baptistery.

The Jersey Village Baptist Church project includes a new 1,500 seat sanctuary with infrastructure for future expansion, music suite, adult classrooms, a 125-person choir loft and space for a 20-person orchestra. Working on an exacting time schedule, BCA designed a complete production lighting system including automated lighting plus initial production lighting design.

Lighting, dimming and control systems for Jersey Village Baptist Church were manufactured by ETC. Dimming and control for Houston’s First Baptist Church was manufactured by Entertainment Technologies. Both projects were installed by Texas Scenic Company.
